Battle Chaos with your friends

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is a first-person perspective action game that takes place in the world of the Warhammer franchise. As the sequel to the original Warhammer: Vermintide, it builds upon the action and graphic gore that made that game a hit. In this one, you get to join a co-op team and stick together to survive.

Besides that, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 offers flexible character customization options in terms of skills. There are five playable characters, each one having three base careers apiece, and you can allocate talent points to build them according to your playing style.

Play co-op and customize your hero to your liking

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 uses a first-person viewpoint to drop the player directly into a dark fantasy world of violence and gore. The five heroes from the first installment are once again pitted against the Chaos army, and as the player, it is your job to bolster your heroes by choosing from a range of careers, pushing them up the talent trees, and getting the deadliest weapons for them to use.

However, you do not have to do it alone: the game’s cooperative multiplayer mode allows up to four players to take part in controlling the heroes. A dedicated player will have plenty of room to customize their game. With 15 different careers, each with its unique attributes. With the branching talent trees and weapons, there are many ways to tailor each character to suit your gameplay style.

Another aspect that helps with character building is the randomized loot boxes players can get and open — however, the items you can potentially get are usually nothing special and scrap-worthy. You can craft these using the crafting feature and come up with better, more powerful weapons instead, though. Concurrently, due to the graphic and violent nature of the game, it’s not advisable for younger audiences to play

Tower of Treachery DLC: A Free Update for Vermintide 2 Fans

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 remains a popular game, and developer Fatshark has rewarded its loyal fan base with the Tower of Treachery DLC. This free update is available to all Vermintide 2 owners and introduces new challenges for the Ubersreik Five as they face off against Sofia Fuegonasus and her nefarious plans. Navigate through traps and illusions while battling the most formidable enemies yet, all within the treacherous tower.

Heroic Masquerade Collection: Premium Cosmetics for the Heroes

Alongside the Tower of Treachery update, Fatshark has introduced the Heroic Masquerade Collection, a premium cosmetic pack available for purchase in the in-game store. This collection includes 10 new cosmetics, one hat, and one skin for each of the five heroes, all inspired by iconic Warhammer Fantasy characters. Players can obtain these cosmetics in bundles or as individual items, allowing for further customization of their favorite heroes.

Belegar Ironhammer, Alarielle the Radiant, and More: Collection Highlights

The Heroic Masquerade Collection features five unique sets of cosmetics, with two premium items for each hero based on legendary Warhammer Fantasy characters. For Bardin Goreksson, players can acquire the Angrund Helm and Angrundklad skin inspired by Belegar Ironhammer. Kerillian fans can enjoy the Crown of Avelorn and High Robes of Isha skin from the Alarielle the Radiant collection. Other collections include the Louen Leoncouer set for Markus Kruber, the Thyrus Gormann set for Sienna Fuegonasus, and the Luthor Huss set for Victor Saltzpyre, each adding a touch of Warhammer Fantasy lore to their respective heroes.

Enter the Karak Azgaraz stronghold

Long-time players of Warhammer: Vermintide 2 never run out of things to do with its regular releases. For example, the massive DLC pack Karak Azgaraz is available to players for free. It remasters three maps revolving around the Khazid Kro quest, tasking players to recover an ancient artifact leading to a Cursed Rune. Additionally, the more casual Okri’s Challenges gives players something to do in exchange for customization options.

The update also comes with new equipment and cosmetics, most notably the Helms of the Valorous collection, offering one unique headgear for each of the careers available. Beyond the new content, this free update also comes with additional QoL settings and improvements. Control visual effects with the Weapon Trail VFX option. You can also see the scoreboard entries’ level and difficulty, as well as enjoy resolved localization issues.

Competitive game not for younger players

In a nutshell, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 presents a decent and even competitive cooperative experience. With a group of other online players, you go against the Chaos army and kill all enemies in your way. Thanks to its robust crafting system and flexible character skill customization options, you’re free to tailor your hero according to your gaming style perfectly. However, it’s not ideal to be played by younger audiences.

PROS

  • Online co-op allows you to play with other players
  • Flexible career and skill tree options for each hero

CONS

  • The yield of the loot boxes is often too shabby
  • Graphic violence and gore aren’t for younger players
